It only takes about 8 minutes to make your voice heard. Please send your letters this weekend – and encourage any local officials or community allies to do the same. The impact of CSBG is real, and the more they hear from us, the more likely they are to listen.

RE: Support Full Funding for the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)

Dear Congressman [Last Name]:

As a local elected official here in Indiana, I want to express my strong support for continued and full funding of the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program — and respectfully ask that you advocate for it in Congress.

CSBG is a commonsense investment that aligns with the core values we Hoosiers believe in: local control, personal responsibility, and helping neighbors help themselves. It’s not a bloated federal handout. It’s a tool that allows Indiana communities like mine to match federal funds with local dollars, stretch every tax dollar further, and deliver targeted help to those truly in need.

Across Indiana, CSBG-funded agencies — like CoAction, right here in our region — are on the front lines. They don’t just hand out aid. They provide homeless diversion, housing stabilization, energy assistance, and help for veterans, seniors, and families working hard to make ends meet. These aren’t giveaways. They’re investments in upward mobility, accountability, and self-reliance.

Every dollar in CSBG funding leverages additional support from local, private, and nonprofit sources. It empowers small towns and rural counties to respond directly to their own needs — without interference from big-government bureaucracy.

If we truly want to cut waste, reinforce American values, and put power back in the hands of the people, then programs like CSBG should be protected and prioritized. I ask you to stand with us — your local leaders and constituents — and ensure CSBG remains fully funded in this year’s federal budget.

Your support will help us keep Indiana strong, self-reliant, and locally led.

Sincerely,
