About the Conference

Our conference theme this year is Celebrating Resilience. Our days are full of reminders that life is hard. Being alive means encountering trouble, adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, loss, and stress.  Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of these experiences. We want to recognize and celebrate the strength and grit it takes to adapt, grow, and thrive!

We hear from attendees each year that they are changed by what they learned. People begin their healing journeys, change how they interact at home and work, and respond differently to the trauma and toxic stress they encounter with peers and people they serve.  Attendees make new connections and earn CEUs.

Our conference aims to bring together experts in trauma and resilience to inspire local action to reduce the impacts of toxic stress on our communities. To help us accomplish these goals, award-winning journalist, internationally-recognized speaker, and author of seven books, Donna Jackson Nakazawa, will join us as keynote speaker!

In 2022, the Reimagine Conference sold out, reaching over 260 attendees! We know that this year’s Reimagine Conference will, once again, be a well-attended and successful event.

About CoAction

CoAction is the only  Community Action agency in Northwest Indiana.  We focus our efforts on people, from infancy to old age, experiencing financial hardship. For many of the people we serve, toxic stress and trauma are significant issues that lead to various physical, social, and mental health challenges. CoAction knows that trauma and toxic stress contribute to poverty and many other problems we are working to solve. To end poverty in Northwest Indiana, we must engage our whole community to understand its causes and respond in ways that further our resilience.
